Blueberry Cheese Cake

Macam pelik one night, one of my baking 'teacher' texted me; ' Kak Zu nak order blueberry cheese cake, boleh '. Dalam hati, boleh mmg boleh tapi kek Ainna x cantik. Huhu.

In terms of cheesecake recipes, I believe I have a lot and mastered quite a few. But d problem is in terms of d cake pan. Jenis yg springform at d moment mostly comes in big sizes. So if I were to bake in a smaller pan, I need to put d baking paper around it and when I remove d paper, terserlah lah kedutan2 di sekeliling. Pada sesape yg expert please advice or give suggestions on where to get smaller springform pan k.

As for my blueberry cheesecake, d base is made from a combination of flour, brown sugar, and almond powder. D rest is similar to d basic cheesecake plus d filling on top of it. But, I have to say d filling that I bought in Honey Ingredient is not as smooth as the one in Sayang SP. For this one in Honey, it looks more like a blueberry jam.

There's always room for improvement right?

Red Velvet Cupcake

A colleague of mine, Harni texted me ' Kak Ainna, can you bake me a RVC with d creamy cream cheese topping? Yg Starbucks x sedap'. Despite the fact that she keeps on stressing she's not pregnant and it's just a craving towards cheese, I am more than happy to bake it for her since i myself love eating it so much!

The first time I baked RVC, I googled d recipe and alhamdulillah menjadi. There are a few versions on the net; buttermilk, whip cream + lemon, yoghurt etc, but usually for cupcakes I will use whip cream n lemon, whereas for cakes I will use the original buttermilk.

What makes it so sedap? I believe the contrast taste of chocolate + lemon + whip cream + cream cheese topping. it sounds fattening yet I never felt guilty eating it ;) So to my dear Harni Farlina, hopefully my RVC has satisfy your cravings ok ;)

Cartoon Artwork Birthday Cake Class

This is the second time I attended a deco class with Kak Zu.. Few days before d class, Kak Zu texted me to ask which cartoon I would like to draw. Thinking of Aleesya & Umar's common interest, I decided to do RIO.

However, on the real day of the class, I find that the picture of Blu, the main character in RIO was a bit tiny and complicated. So I resorted to Dora, bearing in mind that Aleesya had d Dora's backpack, a gift from her Aunty Nelly & Tok Noor. Here's the real deal.

We need to make an outline from d cartoon that we want using chocolate. However, after doing d chocolate outline using Dora's picture, it became broken all over and it was my 3rd attempt. It was already 4pm so finally I resorted to Minnie Mouse; simple yet interesting to look at.

Like Kak Zu said, pengalaman tu penting & kalau sabar hasilnya puas hati. Mmg puas hati bila bawak balik kek Aleesya's first comment; 'wow! Mama buat Minnie Mouse. Terima kasih, mama' . Segala sakit belakang, penat hilang terus. Paling penting muka Encik Hubby yg konon2 x nak puji sebut ' Ok gak u buat kek ni '.

Thank u so much Kak Zu. Insya allah next time I will bug u again to learn on other cakes pulak. Jangan serik ye ada student mcm saya  ;b

Carrot Cake

We had a pot luck at school somewhere last week. At first, I didn't know what to do.. Nak masak2 ni cm lambat skit ;b suddenly TING! Carrot Cake! Alhamdulillah the carrot cake licin in 20 minutes time. Thanks to d carrot cake, it somehow has given me d courage to be friendlier to other teachers in that school since I considered myself quite new there ( transferred in Jan 2012 ).

Why carrot cake? Because it has a unique taste, a combination of carrots and walnut and cream cheese topping ;) Yummy! And again, thanks to d video that Raihanna uploaded in her blog, I now know how to make d carrot icing ( although I have a looong way to go to make a perfect carrot shape ) So happy
carrot-ing everyone ;)


CARROT CAKE RECIPE

2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
A pinch of salt
1 cup corn oil
2 1/2 carrots- grated
1 cup walnut- chopped
1 1/2 cups sugar
Vanilla essence
4 eggs

* Beat eggs & sugar. Add in corn oil. Beat the ingredients using a low speed. Add in flour, baking powder, soda, & salt. Mixed well. Using a spatula, put in the grated carrot & walnut. Pour into pan. Bake 180 C 30 mins.

CREAM CHEESE TOPPING
250g cream cheese
1/4 cup butter
1 1/2 cups icing sugar
Lemon zest

* Beat the butter. Add the cream cheese. Beat until smooth. Pour in the icing sugar. Beat using medium speed. Put in the lemon zest. Decorate your cake using this icing

Oreo Cheese Cake

This time let's talk about Oreo Cheese Cake. Yummy! The same basic like my post on Classic Cheese Cake, just replace the biscuits with Oreo Biscuits, omit the sour cream and use whipping cream instead, and put in the white cream from the Oreo biscuits plus a few Oreo biscuits inside the cream cheese ingredients.. So adalah rasa biscuit dlm cake tu.

Cuma d Oreo Cheesecake dekat SR if x silap chilled Oreo Cheesecake rasanya ( correct me if I'm wrong ) Mine is d baked version.. and my weakness is susah nak bake this cheese cake tanpa overbaked; d cake turns out a bit brownish.. so if bakers kat luar sana nak bagi pandangan or komen, silakan ye.. sama2 kita belajar ;)

Hopefully, in time I can make a perfecto Oreo Cheese Cake and become a better baker ;)
